How much gun violence in the world?

Every day, an estimated 2,000 people suffer gunshot wounds.Around the world, at least 2 million people are coping with gun injuries.  The devastating and protracted psychological repercussions that gun violence - or the threat of gun violence - delivers to individuals, families, and their larger community affect millions of people.Injuries caused by gunshots were close to 134,000 in the USA in 2017.According to data from the Small Arms Survey, an independent research project located at the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva, Switzerland, U.S. civilians held an average of 120.5 firearms per 100 people in 2017, the highest rate in the world by a factor of more than two, followed by Yemen (52.8), Montenegro (39.1), Serbia (39.1), and Uruguay (34.7). In other words, the only nation where there were more civilian-owned firearms than citizens was the United States.Recent reports have also revealed that the United States has one of the highest rates of gun-related fatalities worldwide, including those caused by interpersonal violence, self-harm, and unintentional injuries.The United States had the 20th-highest rate of firearm fatalities in 2019 out of 204 nations examined by the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation. In that year, there were 11.3 firearm-related fatalities per 100,000 Americans.  After Colombia, Brazil, and Mexico among the 40 largest nations in the globe in 2019, the United States had the fourth-highest rate of firearm-related fatalities. According to the impartial statistics center USAFacts, gun-related deaths increased 35% in the United States between 2014 and 2020.
